Meet the Eland
The Eland is the world’s largest antelope, though they have the endurance to maintain a trot indefinitely. Both males and females have horns that spiral tightly, though the females horns tend to be longer and thinner than the males.
About the Eland
As the world’s largest antelope, the Eland has a cow-like shape. They are usually fawn or tawny-colored, but they can turn gray or bluish-gray as they age. The oldest elands can become almost black in color. Elands are very adaptable animals and can be found in grassland, mountains, savanna, or woodland areas. They tend to distance themselves from deserts and swamps.
