Meet the Flemish Giant Rabbit
The Flemish Giant Rabbit is one of the largest domesticated rabbit breeds, often weighing between 15 to 20 pounds (or more!) and stretching over two feet in length. Despite their imposing size, these gentle giants are known for their calm and affectionate nature, making them popular as both pets and show animals. Originating in Belgium in the early 16th century, they were initially bred for meat and fur but have since become beloved companions due to their intelligent and sociable personalities. Their soft, dense coats come in a variety of colors, including black, blue, fawn, and sandy. Flemish Giants are highly trainable, capable of learning tricks and even using litter boxes like cats. Due to their size, they require ample space to roam and a diet rich in fiber to maintain their health. Whether as a cuddly pet or a competitive show rabbit, the Flemish Giant continues to charm enthusiasts around the world.
