Meet the Muntjac

The Muntjac is a small, hump-backed deer with a small tail and is typically just a bit larger than a fox. Muntjac are native to China, India and Southeast Asia and have been introduced in other countries of the world including England and France.

About the Muntjac

Muntjacs are typically solitary and nocturnal animals that prefer to live in areas of thick vegetation. The males have tusklike upper canine teeth that project from the mouth and slightly hooked antlers on their heads. The muntjac have the smallest footprint of all deer species.
